IMPORTANT DATES - 2020 PRIMARY ELECTION IN SUMMIT COUNTY, COLORADO
Ballots Mailed to Military & Overseas Voters: Ballots were transmitted according to the voter’s indicated method (Mail/Email/Fax) before the statutory deadline of May 16, 2020. Please email UOCAVA@summitcountyco.gov if you are a UOCAVA voter and require assistance.
Early Voting by Mail or Secure Drop Box: Active, registered voters will begin receiving ballots the week of February 10, 2020. Ballots may be obtained and cast until 7:00pm Election Day. *Remember: the County Clerk has to be in possession of the ballot by 7:00pm on Election Day. Postmarked ballots that are not in possession of the County Clerk by 7:00pm Election Day will not be counted (UOCAVA Voters excepted) in accordance with Colorado Election Rule.
Early In-Person Voting: Begins Monday, June 22, 2020 in Breckenridge only. Click on the "How to Cast Your Vote" for specific dates and times. Note: Early and Election Day Voter Service and Polling Center location has changed to the BGV Community Center/South Branch Library located at 103 South Harris Street in Breckenridge. The former location was one block away at the Old County Courthouse at 208 Lincoln Avenue.

VOTE EARLY - VOTE BY MAIL
There are many ways to return your Mail Ballot. Once you’ve voted, placed your ballot into the secrecy sleeve that is provided to you within your ballot packet, seal the secrecy sleeve (that now contains the voted ballot) inside the return envelope. Then sign the back of your return envelope and you’re ready to return your ballot.
- Affix postage to return envelope and place your ballot in the mail
- Drop off your ballot at any Summit County 24-hour ballot drop box (5 locations in Summit County, listed below)
- Drop off your ballot to any Summit County VSPC on Election Day from 7:00am-7:00pm

24-hour Ballot Drop Boxes will be opened the week of May 8, 2020 and closed at 7:00PM on Election Day (Tuesday, June 30, 2020)

COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE BALLOT REPLACEMENT & DROP-OFF
Note: the Old Courthouse building that houses the Clerk & Recorder’s Office has been since March 16 closed during the COVID-19 time period. Please call (970) 453-3479 to receive a replacement ballot in the mail, or after June 22 visit the Early Voter Service Polling Center at 103 South Harris Street in Breckenridge (BGV Community Center/South Branch Library) to vote in person or receive a replacement ballot.
VOTER SERVICE POLLING CENTER ELECTION DAY DROP OFF
Didn’t get to the Post Office or one of the 24-hour drop boxes? Absolutely must have that "I Voted" sticker to wear all day? We understand! On Election Day, swing by whichever Summit County Voter Service Polling Center is convenient for you with your Summit County ballot. VSPCs are open between 7:00AM and 7:00PM on Election Day.
EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING
Didn’t receive your Mail Ballot? New to Colorado? You can register to vote, update an existing voter record and cast your vote at a Voter Service Polling Center before Election Day. Note: you do not need to vote at the nearest polling center to your residence, but voters are required to vote within the COUNTY they reside in. The only location available for Early Voting is the Breckenridge VSPC, located at the BGV Community Center/South Branch Library at 103 Harris Street, Breckenridge, CO 80424 (*NEW LOCATION DUE TO COVID-19 ONLY 1 BLOCK AWAY FROM FORMER LOCATION*)
The Early Voting Voter Service Polling Center in Breckenridge will be open the following dates/times:
- Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, 2020 8:30am-4:30pm
- Saturday Early Voting Day: June 27 8:00am-12:00pm (4 hours)
- Monday, June 29, 2020 between 8:30AM-4:30PM
- Early Voting & Voter Services are not available Sundays

REGISTER TO VOTE ONLINE THROUGH THE COLORADO SECRETARY OF STATE

In order to register to vote, you must be:
- United States Citizen
- 18 years or older on or before election day
- Completed and signed form (form not required if Registering online at www.GoVoteColorado.gov)
- Colorado resident for at least 22 days before the election
- Furnish an acceptable form of identification

The Primary Election will occur on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Results will be reported no earlier than 7:00pm on Election Day. An Election Night Reporting link will be posted when it becomes available from the Colorado Secretary of State.

The 2020 Primary Election in Summit County, Colorado, will consist of the following three ballot styles:
Republican (REP): Active registered Republican affiliated voters (affiliation deadline is June 1, 2020) will receive the REP style ballot in the mail.
Democratic (DEM): Active registered Democratic affiliated voters (affiliation deadline is June 1, 2020) will receive the DEM style ballot in the mail.
Libertarian (LBR): Active registered Libertarian affiliated voters (affiliated deadline is June 1, 2020) will receive the LBR style ballot in the mail.
PACKET: Unaffiliated voters will receive a "PACKET" with both MAJOR Party ballot styles (DEM and REP). Unaffiliated voters must only vote and choose one of the ballots. If both ballots are returned, neither will be counted.
Other registered voters with affiliations (as of June 1, 2020) such as Unity, Green, etc. will not receive a ballot for the 2020 Primary Election.
