Non-profits, including charitable, religious and private school organizations, may apply for exemption from property tax.
The application form, along with the state's fee, is submitted to the Assessor's Office. Our office verifies location and ownership information and then forwards the application and fee to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). The state reviews the application and informs both the property owner and the Assessor's Office of their determination. If an exemption is approved by the state, the Assessor's Office will update the property record accordingly.
