Summit County government works with partner agencies throughout the community to prepare for disasters and emergencies. It is also important for individuals, families and businesses to prepare for these events. Emergency Information


It's important to know how to get information before, during and after an emergency. Use the following resources receive emergency information in Summit County:
  • 211: Speak with live, trained professionals to obtain information about services and alerts during an emergency or disaster.
  • SC Alert: Sign up with Summit County Alert to receive emergency messages from local public safety agencies via text or email.
  • CoTrip.org: Travel alerts and road conditions provided by the Colorado Department of Transportation.
  • Local radio stations: KYSL 93.9 and KSMT 102.3.
  • NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards: A nationwide network of radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information directly from the nearest National Weather Service office. NWR broadcasts official Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Reverse telephone dialing: Local public safety agencies may use the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send emergency messages via phone.
