Immunizations help protect individuals and entire communities from diseases that are spread person-to-person. Immunizations prevent severe disease in the people who receive them, and they control many infectious diseases that were once common in this country.
Immunization Services
Summit County Public Health offers immunizations for children and adults without insurance and for children who are underinsured or have Medicaid.
Children
- We offer vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program for children under 19 years of age.
- Children with most Medicaid plans are eligible for VFC.
- Children who are uninsured or underinsured (vaccines are not covered by insurance) are eligible for VFC.
- Tetanus containing vaccines are available for post exposure needs.
- No child will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Adults
- We do not offer vaccines for adults with Medicaid. Vaccines are available from PCPs and pharmacies for adults with Medicaid.
- We do offer vaccines for adults with Medicare if they do not have Part D coverage (Please call our office and ask to talk to a nurse on duty for further clarification if needed).
- Tetanus containing vaccines are available for post exposure needs.

Travel Immunizations
Summit County Public Health does not offer travel immunizations. However, you can call us at 970-668-9161 for referrals.
