County Grading & Excavation Regulations
The Engineering Department, as the authority and administrator of the Grading and Excavation Regulations, which are established in
Chapter 6 of the
Code, has published the
Grading Manual (per Section 6004 in Chapter 6 of the Code) which establishes the standards and policies that apply to grading and excavation in unincorporated Summit County.
Grading and excavation (GE) permits are issued under the authority granted in Chapter 6, and are administered by the Engineering Department, with the goal of maintaining safe and visually acceptable practices and standards for all work and preserving water quality through the management of earth-disturbing activities.
