These fees are effective January 25th, 2023. Fees for service must be paid in advance and made payable to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Fees are set by state statute (C.R.S. 30-1-104) and approved by the Summit County Board of County Commissioners under County Resolution No. 2010-69. Fees for governmental agencies may vary; please contact our office for the appropriate fee. The total amount of the completed service will be noted on your Affidavit of Service or Non-Service, which will be accompanied with any refund check due.
The most commonly served documents are listed below. Please contact the Civil Clerk at the Summit County Sheriff's Office for Civil Service Fees on documents not listed below. The Sheriff shall charge the highest individual fee allowable pursuant to section C.R.S. 30-1-104 for the first process and an additional $10.00 for each subsequent process served.

Zip Code Based Mileage Fee Schedule
A mileage fee is charged for all papers served in the zip code zone regardless of the number of attempts or actual mileage traveled during a Sheriff’s operational period. When serving two or more papers on the same person or serving papers on different persons at the same time and place in the same action, there will be a zip Code-Based Mileage Fee for the first process and an additional $10.00 for each subsequent process served (h.5). Mileage based on 65.5 cents/mile.
