Zero Waste Task Force

The Summit County Zero Waste Task Force is a diverse group of community stakeholders that is working to develop recommendations on recycling and other local waste-diversion programs. The group is seeking to identify a robust, financially sustainable waste-diversion model that is not heavily reliant on revenue from trash tipping fees at the local landfill. 


The task force includes representatives from the following organizations, constituencies and economic sectors:
  • Summit County government
  • Town of Breckenridge
  • Town of Dillon
  • Town of Frisco
  • Town of Silverthorne
  • High Country Conservation Center
  • Colorado Mountain College
  • Refuse-hauling businesses
  • Large local businesses
  • Ski areas
  • Lodging industry
  • Restaurant industry
  • Summit County residents
