In response to citizen concerns at the community meetings regarding slash piles awaiting pick up on Peak 7, Summit County CSU Extension Director, Dan Schroder, received approval to adjust the chipping schedule to relocate to the Peak 7 neighborhood. Slash piles were identified and a list of the locations was passed to the chipping crew. The chipping crew is working diligently to chip those identified piles. 
Crews were out Friday, July 7 from 1-4 p.m. on Ski Pole Circle, Thunderhead Court, American Way, Protector Circle, Lone Hand Way, Timber Way, Barton Road, Ski Hill, Pine Court, Brook Street, Ski Crest, Burro Lane, Sitzmark, Twin Pines Court, and Snowshoe Circle. In total, 48 homes were serviced allowing for 99 slash piles to be removed on July 7. Crews will be returning over the next few days to continue with slash pile removals on Peak 7.

The removal of slash piles is an important step to help mitigate fire danger.
