The Summit County Sheriff is lifting the mandatory evacuation order and pre-evacuation order in the Mesa Cortina and Wildernest subdivisions effective 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Areas in the Wildernest subdivisions above Twenty Grand Rd. and in the Mesa Cortina subdivision above Shooting Star are now under a pre-evacuation order. A pre-evacuation order means that residents and visitors in these areas may return and remain in their homes, but be ready to leave upon any emergency notice. Tonight and throughout the weekend expect to see a heavy law enforcement presence in the area.

Reminder to all residents and visitors that Summit County is currently under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions. Animal Control reminds the public to keep pets from eating vegetation covered in fire retardant.

Stay tuned for more information on dealing with fire retardant, food safety and trail closures.
