The Board of County Commissioners are welcoming Representative Julie McCluskie and Senator Dylan Roberts to CMC in Breckenridge on Monday, June 26th to join a panel on property taxes as part of their County 101 series of events.
SUMMIT COUNTY – Summit County’s Board of County Commissioners today announced a public forum on property taxes as part of its ongoing County 101 educational series. The upcoming session, “County 101: Reassessments, Taxes, and Budgets”, is scheduled for Monday, June 26th at 5:00 PM at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge.
Commissioners will host a distinguished panel of guests including State House Representative Julie McCluskie, State Senator Dylan Roberts, and Summit County Assessor Lisa Eurich. Topics will focus on the recent property valuations, their implications for property taxes, and the effects on the County's budget, programs, and services.
“We’ve been hearing from so many members of the community on this historic rise in valuations and what it means for their property taxes and county government ,” said County Commissioner Josh Blanchard. “We’re grateful for both Speaker McCluskie and Senator Roberts’ willingness to contribute an important legislative perspective to the conversation,” he continued.
Panelists will also explore the reassessment process, mill levies, and efforts at both the state and county level to find options for relief. Questions from the audience will be welcomed.
