SENIOR SERGEANT CYNTHIA GILBERT PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANT
SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – On April 9, 2017, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Senior Sergeant Cynthia Gilbert was selected for the position of Lieutenant in the Detentions Division. The addition of this new command level position with the 2017 budget drew the interest of several highly qualified internal and external applicants. A competitive applicant testing process completed with the support of community members, helped to select the applicant best suited for this great responsibility.

Cynthia Gilbert’s enduring commitment to both this community and the Sheriff’s Office is evidenced in her combined nineteen years of law enforcement experience and previous promotions. Beginning as a Detentions Deputy with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in 1999, Cynthia quickly advanced through the ranks becoming a Sergeant, Senior Sergeant to present day Lieutenant. The Sheriff’s Office is confident in Cynthia’s steady-handed leadership, accountability and strong work ethic.
