SUMMIT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ANNOUNCES EXPLORER OPEN HOUSE
SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to invite all interested high school students and parents to an Explorer Open House on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco. The Explorer program provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to gain experience and understanding in the world of law enforcement.
Exploring was developed through the Boy Scouts of America and is being facilitated by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with other local law enforcement agencies. The Explorer program will meet bi-monthly with each meeting lasting approximately two hours. Students in grades 9th through 12th will benefit as the program emphasizes strengthening leadership skills, increasing self confidence and improving law enforcement career readiness.
“The Sheriff’s Office is excited to bring back the Explorer program as an exciting opportunity for students to further develop leadership skills as they engage with their peers, members of our law enforcement community and the public.” stated Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons.
Those with further interest are encouraged to contact School Resource Officer, Wanda Wilkerson at (970) 485-9990 or Wanda.Wilkerson@summitcountyco.gov.
