[ARCHIVED] Barricaded Subject in Wildernest

On Saturday, May 27, 2017 at approximately 5:43 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a harassment call in the 500 block of Ryan Gulch Road in Wildernest.

SUMMIT COUNTY, CO- On Saturday, May 27, 2017 at approximately 5:43 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a harassment call in the 500 block of Ryan Gulch Road in Wildernest. At some point one suspect barricading himself alone in a room stated that he was armed with a gun. The situation is ongoing at this time and more information will be released when available. A safety perimeter around the area has been established and the public is asked to stay away from this area. 


While negotiations were underway, Sheriff’s Detectives were working to obtain an arrest warrant. Upon being taken into custody at approximately 11:37 p.m., Justin Michael King a 26 year old male, was arrested on charges of domestic violence;  stalking; violation of bail bond conditions; felony menacing; and violation of a protection order. King was transported to the Summit County Detentions Facility and held on a no bond until seen by a judge.
