Over the last nearly ten years, he has helped the Sheriff’s Office make tremendous strides in numerous areas including improvement of facility functions, creating a robust inmate mental health and re-entry system as well as adding a comprehensive inmate medical care program. Bourgerie has also worked tirelessly protecting the security of his staff and all of those entering the Justice Center by securing radios, tasers and other protective equipment for deputies, adding holding cells, building a new camera system from the ground up and instituting biometric door access controls through the entire Summit County Justice Center campus.
