The Summit County Main Library located in the County Commons in Frisco is wrapping up its renovation after 5 months of construction. In preparation for reopening, the current library space in the Buffalo Mountain meeting room will close starting on Monday, January 31. This will allow staff to unpack the collection and prepare the new Library for the Grand Opening in March.
“We love our new brighter, more open, and user-friendly space at the Main Library in Frisco and will be working hard to get our collection RFID chipped for easier checkout and back on the shelves for you to enjoy. ” Library Director, Stephanie Ralph.
The Main Library, which has been operating out of the Buffalo Mountain meeting room, will close to the public on Monday, January 31. However, pickup of materials on hold will continue to be available during this closure by calling 970-668-4138. Staff will check out materials for patrons and bring them to a table inside the entrance of the County Commons. Masks are required to enter the building. All other library services, including computer use and printing, will be suspended during this time.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this final closure,” says Operations Manager Sarah Hulsey. “And we can’t wait to welcome patrons back into our fresh and updated space in March.”
Some of the updates you will enjoy in the new Main library:
- A new entrance leading directly into the library.
- Expanded children and teen reading and creative areas.
- Additional private spaces for working remotely, studying, and reading, as well as a library programming room.
