Summit Stage to Follow Decisions from TSA/FTA to no longer Require Masks on Public Transportation

TSA will no longer enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs

SUMMIT COUNTY – As a result of a court order, effective April 18, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) January 29, 2021 Order requiring masks on public transportation conveyances and at transportation hubs is no longer in effect. Therefore, CDC will not enforce the Order. CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.

Based on recent decisions from TSA/FTA, Summit Stage will move to a business as usual operating mode, while noting that the CDC continues to recommend that masks be worn in indoor public settings. The Summit Stage supports its riders and its employees that may choose to wear masks, but they will no longer be required.  Individuals are strongly encouraged to exercise personal responsibility to help limit the spread of the highly contagious omicron variant. Individuals can protect themselves by staying home when sick and getting tested if they experience flu-like symptoms.
