DECEASED BODY OF MISSING PERSON FOUND
SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – On July 8, 2022 at approximately 2:16 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an area in the woods near the County Commons, for the report of a deceased person. On scene, members of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office discovered a camp in the woods and a tent containing a deceased male, medications, paperwork, and personal items belonging to missing person, Craig Standlee, who was last seen on June 9, 2022 in the Frisco area. The Summit County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the deceased as missing person, Craig Standlee. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
On July 5, 2022, the family of Craig Standlee reported him missing to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. The information on Mr. Standlee was immediately placed on the Sheriff’s Office social media platforms and publicized by the Summit Daily News. The citizen that called 911 to report the decedent was responding to media posts.
“On behalf of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Standlee’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons said.
