SUMMIT COUNTY – Summit County Commissioner Tamara Pogue has been appointed by the Colorado Governor's Office to the State of Colorado Board of Human Services. The Board of Human Services is responsible for overseeing the provision of human services in the state of Colorado, including programs related to health care, mental health, and social services. Her appointment was confirmed by the Legislature last week. 

"Connecting individuals and families, particularly those who are underserved, to programs and benefits that help them live stable and healthy lives has been a mission of mine in Summit County," said Commissioner Pogue. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to leverage that experience across the entire state.”

As a member of the Board of Human Services, Commissioner Pogue will play a key role in shaping the policies and programs that affect the health and well-being of residents throughout the state. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the board, both in her role as County Commissioner and as a leader in Summit’s social services structure, including her former role as Executive Director of the Family Intercultural & Resource Center and the founding CEO of Peak Health Alliance.

"Tamara has impacted the quality of life of Coloradans for almost two decades in childcare, housing, and mental health services in Summit County," she continued. 

Commissioner Pogue will begin her term on the Board of Human Services immediately.
