Environmental Health

As part of the Public Health Department, Environmental Health (EH) is focused on controlling environmental factors that impact human health and environment (food, water and air).

EH staff conducts routine inspections and complaint investigations related to health and sanitation in all food establishments, child care facilities, and schools.

EH oversees the permitting, installation and use of onsite wastewater treatment systems (septic systems), protecting drinking water resources and surface waters from pollution.

EH also responds to complaints concerning swimming pools, public accommodations, mobile home parks, campgrounds and other recreational facilities.
