Road & Recpath Projects

The Road & Bridge Department is in the process of planning a number of road construction projects. All planned construction on County roads is typically completed between May 1st & October 31st.

Baldy Area Road Reconstruction

Crews will be working on four roads in the Baldy area from July 15 through September 2. Travelers should expect single-land closures and gravel road surfaces during this time. Trailhead access will also be impacted on a rolling basis.

  • Roads under construction (in order): Goldenview Drive, Uncle Sam Lode, North Fuller Placer, South Fuller Placer
  • Timeline: July 15 through September 2, subject to change
  • Scope of work:
    • Week 1: Pulverizing/reclaiming the asphalt; expect gravel surfaces
    • Week 2: Culvert replacements
    • Week 3: Repaving

Miners Creek Road Infrastructure Construction Project

The Summit County Housing Department and third-party contractors will be working on infrastructure construction for the Nellie’s Neighborhood housing project starting on Monday, May 20th through Friday, June 28th, weather dependent. This project will require the closure of Miners Creek Road. All road users are asked to plan ahead, and we thank all residents and visitors for their patience while this necessary road work is completed.

  • Construction Project: Miners Creek Road Infrastructure Closure
  • Location: Miners Creek Road, from approximately Stellar Jay to Bob White Way (see map of impacted area below)
  • Scope of Work: The infrastructure project includes extending water and sewer lines to the Nellie's Neighborhood site and replacing a culvert that runs under Miners Creek Road. This project is separate from additional road improvements planned for Miners Creek Road, planned for 20245. 
  • Timeline: Monday, May 20 - Friday, June 28, subject to change

Tiger Road Reconstruction, Culvert Replacement and Paving

The Summit County Road & Bridge Department and third-party contractors will be working on reconstructing and paving Tiger Road as well as replacing 5 culverts starting on Wednesday, May 15th through Friday, May 31st, weather dependent. This project will require temporary single-lane closures and will be signed several days prior. Additionally, the entire surface of the impacted area will be gravel throughout the project as crews mill and recycle the existing asphalt to repave Tiger Road at the project’s completion. Motorists, cyclists, and other road users are asked to plan ahead, and we thank all residents and visitors for their patience while this necessary road work is completed.

  • Construction Project: Tiger Road Reconstruction, Culvert Replacement and Paving
  • Location: Tiger Road, from approximately Gold Run Road to approximately 0.6 miles past the Dredge Boat Trailhead (see maps of impacted areas below)
  • Scope of Work: Entire surface of the road to be recycled, resulting in temporary gravel surface road during removal and replacement of five culverts. The road will be subject to single-lane closures and delays periodically throughout the project. Road will be repaved with asphalt at the project’s completion.
  • Timeline: Wednesday, May 15 - Friday, May 31, subject to change
